Purpose
Policy Trader is a division of Yield Capital (Pty) Ltd and is committed to rendering financial services honestly, fairly, with due skill, care and diligence, and in the best interests of clients.
A conflict of interest may arise where Yield Capital, Policy Trader, their representatives, employees, directors, associates or related parties have an actual or potential interest that may influence the objective performance of their duties, prevent the rendering of unbiased and fair financial services, or prevent them from acting in the best interests of a client.
Our approach to conflicts of interest
We will take reasonable steps to:
- Identify actual or potential conflicts of interest
- Avoid conflicts of interest where possible
- Mitigate conflicts where avoidance is not possible
- Disclose conflicts of interest to affected clients
- Maintain internal controls to monitor compliance with this policy
- Keep a record of identified conflicts and the steps taken to manage them
- Review this policy at least annually
Financial interests
Yield Capital, Policy Trader and their representatives may only receive or offer financial interests permitted under applicable legislation, including authorised fees, agreed fees, fees for services rendered, immaterial financial interests within permitted limits, or other financial interests allowed by law.
No employee or representative may accept any gift, incentive, benefit, hospitality, payment or other arrangement that may compromise objective advice, create an unfair preference, or undermine fair treatment of clients.
Disclosure to clients
Where a conflict of interest exists or may arise, we will disclose the nature of the conflict to the client at the earliest reasonable opportunity. This disclosure will include sufficient detail to enable the client to understand the nature and possible effect of the conflict.
